Every RoseLark design has a story, and this is one of our favourites.

The Enchanted Garden Hide began as a DIY hide that Charlotte and I built together for one of our own hamsters. We loved how naturally it blended into the enclosure and how well it worked, so we developed the idea into the signature RoseLark design you see today.

Combining a raised hide, open-base design and integrated steps, it creates a secure, enriching retreat while adding natural beauty to your enclosure. It's a design that remains one of our favourites and has become one of RoseLark's most-loved hides.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many hides should my hamster have?

We recommend providing at least three hides within your hamster's enclosure. Having multiple hides allows your hamster to move around the enclosure while always having access to a secure place to rest or retreat.

Positioning hides in different areas of the enclosure can help create a more enriching environment and allows your hamster to choose where they feel most comfortable.

What size hide should I choose?

Choose a hide that allows your hamster to comfortably enter, turn around and rest inside. Syrian hamsters generally benefit from larger hides, while dwarf hamsters may prefer smaller, more enclosed spaces. Individual preferences can vary, so please refer to the dimensions provided on each product listing.

Syrian hamsters need an opening of at least 7cm.

Dwarf hamsters need an opening of at least 5cm.

Are these hides suitable for Syrian hamsters?

Many RoseLark hides are available in multiple sizes. All single-size hides are designed to be suitable for Syrian hamsters. For hides available in multiple sizes, we recommend choosing a Large size or above, with an opening of at least 7cm.

Please refer to the dimensions provided on each product listing to ensure the hide is suitable for your individual hamster.

Are these hides suitable for Dwarf hamsters?

Yes. RoseLark hides are suitable for dwarf hamster species, including Roborovski, Campbell's, Winter White, (Hybrid Russian Dwarf) and Chinese hamsters. Please refer to the dimensions provided on each product listing to select the most appropriate size for your hamster.

Minimum opening size should be 5cm for dwarf species, but we recommend 6cm for larger dwarf hamsters

Can the hides be placed directly on bedding?

Yes. Most RoseLark hides are designed to be placed directly on top of bedding, allowing your pet to interact naturally with their enclosure. Please check the product description for details on whether a particular hide has an open or closed base.

Where should a hamster hide be placed in the enclosure?

Providing more than one hide within the enclosure allows a hamster to retreat and feel secure wherever they are exploring. Placing hides in different areas of the enclosure helps ensure your hamster always has access to a sheltered resting space.

A common setup is to place an open-based hide within a sand bath on top of a stable platform, creating a secure grooming and resting area. It can also be helpful to position another hide toward the front of the enclosure, giving shy hamsters a nearby place to retreat if they feel uncertain during activity or interaction.

Our rescue hamster Raisin is very happy with her new hide and bath, thank you so much! Excellent quality, feels safe and sturdy for my curious hamster :) Will continue to use this shop, thanks again!

Great quality. Looks good. Definitely recommended.

Love the enchanted garden hide. Service as always has been brilliant

Stunning item, I went for natural colours. Sturdy, easy to clean and looks lovely. As soon as I put it in the cage, my hamster Pretzel ran straight into it. Love the section on top, which I've filled with flower forage.
Happy 1 year anniversary 🎉 🥳

This enchanted garden hide is gorgeous! It looks amazing in Muffin’s enclosure.

Our little hamster Cookie loves her little hide and likes that we put treats on the roof for her.

Great little hideout/platform for my little guy, loves it!!

fantastic item and really quick delivery. super customer service as I changed my mind about colours. Thanks 😊

My Syrian loves this already and has chosen it has her sleep hide in her new enclosure. Love the pop of colour too! Thanks

Item is high quality and is exactly as advertised . Would highly recommend !

I've often said, a business or company really show their true colours when something goes wrong . I had delivery issues with the post office telling me my parcel had arrived, when there was no sign of it.
(Sasha looked into it and apparently they used 1 tracking number for a few orders, different items, different addresses).
Thank you Sasha for getting to the bottom of it .

It finally arrived. Well packaged and all parts in 1 piece.
The quality is amazingly smooth and solid. I am more than happy with my chosen colours. This large hide will work well in any enclosure.
It certainly exceeds my expectations. Highly recommend their products, and if you have any issues Sasha is very contactable and willing to help sort issues.

I’ve had a few items from this seller and love them all and this one is fabulous! Firstly it looks great. A unique design. More importantly of course is its purpose. I’ve sat this hide in my robos’s sandbath. That way he can dig under it and all around it and use the stairs to a section above where I can add treats for him to find. I highly recommend.

My favourite hide! I’ve had a few items from this seller. I rate them all. But I love this one. It’s looks great and it is very loved by, and very useful for, my hamster. I sit mine in his sandbath so he can dig underneath it and use the upper level and the steps. Great option of colour choices and sizes. The seller is great - very helpful.

Perfect, thank you :)

Fab item! Really looks cute. Colours are gorgeous too...pink and purple 👌🏼 Love it!

I love it.Strongly recommend, good looking and my hammie likes it.

Great item. The small is good for my robo but anything bigger would need a bigger size. I love the colour options. Great products again from this seller.

Beautifully made, arrived quickly and excellent communication. Best of all the day it put it in the enclosure, my hamster made it his bed of choice. Clearly loved the colour scheme.

My hammy loves it!! It’s such a safe way for him to hide and also climb up. I personally put some coco soil on the top for him. Very happy with it.

Wonderful product, my hamster loves it and has already been busy exploring. Colours look beautiful and great quality. Have already been back on tonight to order more items.

Absolutely beautiful and just as described. Looks great in my hamsters cage and she’s been exploring all her new items already!! Thank you

Loved this little hide and steps as soon as I saw it and knew it would be perfect. It really is, I did cover it in hamster safe moss and it looks fab. Definitely recommend this company.
